A double release for low brass solos! Essay for Euphonium and Piano has been edited into a second edition, and renamed Essay No. 1: For Euphonium and Piano. This second edition was in part due to a desire to retouch the piece and make some minor changes, but also to reflect that it is the first of many solos to come.
Which brings me to announcing Essay No. 2: For Tuba and Piano! If we spoke at the International Women’s Brass Conference this past May, I likely mentioned a tuba piece coming in the fall. I’m pleased that it is finally ready for the world!
Essay No. 2 is just over six minutes long and appropriate for a collegiate tuba student. Like Essay No. 1, it is meant to be a showcase of the technical and lyrical abilities of the instrument.

Consortium Announcement

I am delighted to announce my collaboration with Elijah Swan and Dr. Henry Dorn in a trombone consortium!
​
Elijah is leading the consortium in the commissioning of two new works for trombone. Dr. Dorn is writing a work for trombone and piano, and I am pleased to be writing a trombone quartet.
"Red Tails of Blue Skies"

I am pleased to announce the completion of my latest work, Red Tails of Blue Skies! This piece for Bb Trumpet Ensemble was commissioned by the Trumpet Educators Initiative. Red Tails of Blue Skies was inspired by red-tailed hawks, a bird found across the Americas.
​
Now that the work is in the hands of those who commissioned it, the premiere cycle can begin! Information on performances will be shared as it becomes available. ​

I am thrilled to announce my collaboration with the Trumpet Educators Initiative (TEI), led by Drs. Flint Angeroth Franks, Julia Bell, and Elijah Denecke. The goal of the TEI is to broaden the existing literature to better accommodate a wider range of the trumpet community through the commissioning of new music. I have been commissioned by the TEI to write a trumpet ensemble piece at the intermediate level.
